Having a tachometer is a fundamental tool for any model aircraft that has nitro or gasser engines to better carbure the engines. I haven't tried it yet but I've already had other products of this brand and I've never had any problems. I recommend having one among the basic hobby tool

the battery that was in the device was flat but you get an extra one in the packet. just need to unscrew the 4 screws and take off the bottom cover and replace the battery. the one button puts it on and the other one you can select from 2 to 9 blades to measure the rpm. good product banggood!
